Fucsovics upsets Sekiguchi |

 Hungarian 13th seed Marton Fucsovics caused the biggest upset of the boys tournament at the Canadian Junior Open by defeating 4th seeded Japanese Shuichi Sekiguchi in straight sets. Top seeds Liang-Chi Huang and Agustin Velotti easily made it into the quarterfinals, just like 3rd seed Andrea Collarini. Girls top seeds Noppawan Lertcheewakarn and Timea Babos also reached the quarterfinals, both in straight sets.

Njiric finds an early waterloo in Canada |

 Silvia Njiric, the 3rd seeded Croatian at the Canadian Junior Open, saw her run ended in the second round. The surprising winner of the match was unseeded German Annika Beck, who fought back after a first set loss to send the highly seeded Croatian home. In the shadow of this major upset came the defeat of 5th seeded Slovakian Jana Cepelova to American Ester Goldfeld. 7th seed Ksenia Kirillova lost to Ukrainian Elina Svitolina. |

Jason Kubler and Viktoria Rajicic, both of Australia, where the two best players at the Oceania Closed Junior Championships on Fiji. Kubler captured his first major title by defeating compatriot William Kwok in straight sets. Rajicic did even better in her final match against New Zealander Briar Preston, defeating her opponent with the loss of only 1 game. The winners at the US Junior Hardcourt Championships were Americans Sekou Bangoura and Ester Goldfeld. |
