Diez and Dabija crowned European Junior Champions |

The first Junior tournament that Spaniard Steven Diez played in his career immediately yielded success. Diez had mostly been plying his trade on the ATP tour, trying to climb the senior rankings. His one-time appearance on the Junior scene in the final of the European Junior Championships against Hungarian Marton Fucsovics, was a tough but successful one. Diez was joined in the winner’s circle by another player who mostly plays with the seniors, Romanian Elora Dabija. Dabija defeated 9th seed Richel Hogenkamp of the Netherlands.

Berta and Mladenovic stunned |

Top seeds Daniel Berta and Kristina Mladenovic saw their limelight at the European Junior Championships stolen very surprisingly by two unlikely sources. Berta tumbled out of the tournament after a defeat against 5th seeded Spaniard Steven Diez. Mladenovic was given no chance in the final set by 9th seeded Dutch girl Richel Hogenkamp. Diez now faces unseeded Hungarian Marton Fucsovics in the boys final and the final of the girls will be contested between Hogenkamp and 4th seeded Romanian Elora Dabija.

Carreno upset at European Junior Championships |

As one of the highest ranked Juniors on the ATP tour, Spaniard Pablo Carreno could be counted as one of the pre-tournament favorites for the European Junior Championships. Unseeded Hungarian Marton Fucsovics ended that dream, however, defeating the 4th seeded Spaniard in the fourth round. Top seeds Daniel Berta and Kristina Mladenovic had an easy time reaching the quarterfinals, just like second seeds Gianni Mina and Timea Babos.
