Miccini out of German Junior Open |

The German Junior Open lost it’s boys 2nd seed when Italian Giacomo Miccimi had to retire from his match with Belarusian Vladzimir Kruk. All other highly seeded players like boys 1st seed Karim-Mohamed Maamoun, girls 1st seed Alja Tomljanovic and girls 2nd seed Alexandra Damaschin made it into the third round. The only major casualty in the girls tournament was 8th seeded Russian Anastasia Mukhametova. |

Carreno out in first round |

Last week’s runner up at the Biesterbos Open, Pablo Carreno-Busta, was surprisingly upset in the first round of the German Junior Open. The 3rd seeded Spaniard lost his match to Aussie Maverick Banes in 3 tough sets. Top seeds Karim-Mohamed Maamoun of Egypt and Giacomo Miccini of Italy both went through in straight sets. |
