Very few seeds at the Gerry Weber Open showed any problems in their transition from clay to grass. In the boys and girls tournament combined only 3 seeds failed to make it into the quarterfinals. Boys top seeds David Goffin and Guillaume Rufin didn’t lose a single set, just like girls top seeds Katarzyna Piter and Zi-Jun Yang. 3rd seed Marin Draganja was the only seeded player to go out in the first round. |

Alcantara crashes out of Mediterranee Avenir |

 Mediterranee Avenir top seed Francis-Casey Alcantara of the Philippines continued his slump of form in the second round, losing his 4th match in the last 5 against Italian Alessandro Bega. 2nd seed Carlos Boluda and 3rd seed Karim-Mohamed Maamoun encountered no problems on their way to the third round. Girls top seeds Elena Chernyakova and Alja Tomljanovic also eased into the next round. |
