As the last remaining hope of the eligible Junior players remaining in the qualifying draw, Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova didn’t disappoint. The soon to be 17-year old easily defeated her Ukrainian opponent, Yevgenia Savranska.

Wimbledon qualies Junior watch: Larcher de Brito going home

Looking for her first chance to qualify for a Grand Slam at the tender age of 15, Portugese prodigy Michelle Larcher de Brito fell just short against Frenchwoman Stephanie Foretz. With 12 years more experience and 2 second rounds under her belt, Foretz made her experience in the 3 sets that she needed to defeat her opponent.

Wimbledon qualies Junior watch: Moore fights hard

British wildcard Tara Moore, at 16 years one of the youngest players, showed why she is hailed as one of the bigger talents in British tennis in her first round match of the qualifying tournament of Wimbledon. Moore pushed 15th seed Olga Puchkova all the way, but fell just short of causing a major upset. Fellow Junior Stefanie Voegele lost an epic match 13-11 in the third set and Latvian Anastasia Sevastova had no chance against Vesna Manasieva.
